Stalking
Skill, Woodlore
Moving silently through almost any terrain and following creatures without being noticed, once they have been sighted.
From the book
Stalking allows a character to travel silently over almost any terrain and to follow a creature or group of creatures unseen. As with the thieving skill Tailing, the character has to spot the quarry personally before the stalk can start.
Success is 55% plus 5% per level of ability. When the roll fails, either of two things has happened, with even odds: the stalker has lost the trail, or the quarry has noticed its follower by sight, sound or scent. Wearing metal armor of any sort halves the chance. Stalking is a 1,000 XP Woodlore skill that hunters and characters raised in primitive or barbarian cultures pick up naturally; anyone else must learn it from a tutor.
