Bounty Hunter

Profession, dual-classed

A dual-classed hunter and spy who tracks down, captures or kills people for pay. Most prefer to bring quarry in alive, since live prisoners fetch more.

CombinesHunter + Spy

From the book

Bounty hunters pursue, capture or kill individuals for money; the notorious ones hire out as killers, but most would rather take their target alive because a living prisoner pays better. They share the rogue's knack for knocking a victim out with one blow (Waylaying) and the spy's Assassinate ability.

Their work often takes them outside the law, so most are chaotic, and nearly all will take any job if the price is right, though some choose their quarry.

The book sets out standard minimum fees, with multipliers for dangerous targets and extra for expenses; some will hunt spell casters only when desperate and otherwise suggest a witch hunter. Many work alone, but partners are easy to find, and since their jobs overlap with ordinary adventuring (hunting monsters or elusive rogues) many are happy to join an adventuring party for a share of the profits.
