Hunting/Fishing/Trapping

Skill, Woodlore

Knowing where and how to hunt, fish and trap, and how to dress and cure meat, hides and pelts.

From the book

A character with this skill knows where the best hunting grounds, fishing spots and trapping runs are to be found, and is expert at all three ways of taking game. Whether stalking with a bow, fishing a stream or setting small traps and snares, the character has a 50% chance plus 1-20% of bringing something in, checked about once an hour or as the situation suits. The Game Judge may raise or lower the odds depending on what kind of game is being pursued.

The skill also covers what happens after the catch: the character knows how to dress and cure every sort of animal part, from edible meat to hides and pelts. It is a Woodlore skill costing 1,000 XP, with tutoring required for anyone outside the hunter professions or a primitive or barbarian background.
