Herb Lore
Skill, Woodlore
Recognizing common herbs and plants, knowing what they are used for, and storing them so they don't spoil.
From the book
Herb Lore lets a character recognize any common herb or plant by passing a save vs Intelligence. Once a plant has been identified, its possible uses and applications are automatically known as well, so a single successful roll tells the herbalist both what the plant is and what it is good for.
The skill also teaches the proper handling of plant ingredients, so the character knows how to prepare and store herbs to keep them from spoiling. That makes it valuable to alchemists, druids, witches and shamans as well as hunters. It is a Woodlore skill costing 1,000 XP, and those without a hunting profession or a primitive or barbarian upbringing must find someone to teach it.
