A wild-haired witch stirs a glowing green cauldron in a moonlit swamp, a black cat and a raven beside her among fireflies.

Witch

Profession, dual-classed

A dual-classed caster of considerable power who pairs Elemental Magic with Black Magic (evil) or Enchantment (good, and usually neutral). Witches and warlocks favor the wilds and leave no tracks.

Also called Warlock, Witch/Warlock, White witch, Black witch

From the book

Witches, and their male counterparts warlocks, are powerful dual-classed spell casters. Popular belief paints them as evil, but they may hold any alignment: evil ones practice Elemental Magic and Black Magic, good or white ones Elemental Magic and Enchantment, and neutral ones usually choose Enchantment as their second field, though neutrals who dabble in Black Magic are not rare.

Their link with black magic has brought persecution, even bounty hunts, from superstitious folk and some religious orders, so witches mistrust lawful people and rarely keep company with them. Most prefer woods, forests and wild places and seldom stay long in a city or big town.

Many are loners, yet large covens gather on special occasions such as the turn of the seasons or the new moon, and black witches commonly form covens of thirteen for dark rites. All can cross any terrain without leaving a trail.
