- AlchemistA practitioner of the science of alchemy rather than a spell caster. Alchemists focus their Will through Rare Earths to make substances with magical properties, working up from simple mixtures to golems, homunculi and Aqua Vitae.
- AssassinA dual-classed martial artist and spy who kills for pay, usually as a member of a secret society or cult. Its signature Assassinate ability can slay with one well-placed blow.
- AstrologerA scholarly spell caster of the field of Astrology, skilled in divination and reading signs and portents. Astrologers draw power from a patron sun or sky deity and are also trained scribes.
- BeastmasterA wilderness figure who talks with, calls, turns, befriends and permanently bonds animals. A few are raised by beasts, but most learn the secret lore from a parent who is also a beastmaster.
- Bounty HunterA dual-classed hunter and spy who tracks down, captures or kills people for pay. Most prefer to bring quarry in alive, since live prisoners fetch more.
- CharlatanA rogue magician with real intelligence but too little Will to master any one field, so it dabbles at first level in several. It mixes minor spell craft with con artistry, thievery and performance.
- CorsairA dual-classed warrior and rogue who works the seas and rivers as a pirate. Corsairs fight in a rough, unorthodox style, are expert with ropes and grapnels, and share the rogue's Waylay and Backstab.
- DruidA nature priest of Elemental Magic who reveres all living things and worships the old gods or the True Elementals. Druids shun civilization, keep sacred groves, and can take animal shapes and speak animal tongues.
- EnchanterA dual-classed magician and harlequin whose magic runs through art and music. Masters can craft glass Orbs of Enchantment and use music to match or break emotional magic.
- GladiatorA professional arena fighter trained in close-quarters weapon and weaponless combat. Most are slaves, prisoners of war or felons sold into the arena, though some fight by choice.
- HarlequinA highly versatile actor and performer found with repertory companies, traveling troupes and circuses. Harlequins juggle, tumble, sleight-of-hand and impersonate others with great skill.
- HunterA highly trained fighter expert in tracking, woodlore and wilderness survival. The best come from barbarian, nomadic or tribal clans.
- MageA dual-classed caster whose primary field is Astrology, paired with a secondary field of Divine Magic, High Magic or Enchantment. The choice makes the mage a magus, a cabalist or an archimage.
- MagicianA single-classed specialist in Enchantment, the field of illusion and conjuration. Magicians start with fewer spells than dual-classed casters but rise in level faster and alone learn the mightiest illusions and conjurations.
- Martial ArtistA student of the old unarmed fighting and self-defense disciplines, trained for years under a monk or master. Only a fully trained martial artist gains its save bonuses and paired-weapon skill.
- MonkA dual-classed martial artist and mystic who joins weaponless combat to the mental disciplines of Mysticism. Monks belong to orders of every lawful stripe and train in remote monasteries.
- MysticA practitioner of Mysticism who seeks mastery of mind and body and the highest consciousness, drawing power from inner ki rather than a deity. Many take an oath of non-violence for an XP bonus.
- NecromancerA practitioner of Black Magic, among the most evil of spell casters, fascinated by death and the lower planes. Power comes through a chain of pacts with an arch demon or arch devil patron.
- PaladinA dual-classed warrior and priest sworn to champion a patron deity's cause, and the only class that can cast spells while armored. Any lapse in that pledge costs the paladin powers.
- PriestA practitioner of Divine Magic wholly devoted to a patron deity and faith. Priests can convert others and turn undead, but must keep the patron's alignment or see their spells falter.
- RogueThe subtlest of felons, adept at covert and illegal work and a cut above common thieves. Rogues specialize as they choose, from highwaymen and muggers to forgers, fences and con artists.
- SavantA dual-classed scholar who also practices either Divine Magic or Mysticism, devoting life to knowledge or contemplation. The chosen field decides which related skills the savant may learn.
- ScholarA learned generalist who starts in the arts and sciences and from 3rd level gains an extra skill of any kind at most levels. Scholars with Read Magic and Ancient Lore can trade skills for first level spell casting.
- ShamanA practitioner of Low Magic, the oldest and most primitive spirit and sympathetic magic, feared and respected as a wizard-priest among its people. Shamans see into the spirit realm, bind spirit helpers and gain a power animal.
- SorcererA dual-classed caster who treats magic as science, majoring in Sorcery with Enchantment or Black Magic as a second field. Sorcerers explain every magical effect by natural law and often sell their skills to the highest bidder.
- SpyA specialist in subterfuge, espionage and undercover work who hides behind aliases and disguises. Each spy chooses either Waylay or Assassinate as a special ability and has sharp powers of observation.
- ThaumaturgeA dual-classed magician and alchemist who uses magic rather than Projection of Will to perform advanced alchemical work. Thaumaturges cannot use Rare Earths and never cooperate with alchemists.
- WarriorThe most common highly trained fighter, found in civilized and uncivilized cultures alike. Specializing only in combat, warriors rise quickly, gain extra attacks sooner than other fighters and may take any number of weapon specializations.
- WitchA dual-classed caster of considerable power who pairs Elemental Magic with Black Magic (evil) or Enchantment (good, and usually neutral). Witches and warlocks favor the wilds and leave no tracks.
- Witch HunterA dual-classed hunter and mystic who specializes in hunting spell casters. Witch hunters are spell casters themselves and wear no armor.
- WitchdoctorA dual-classed, always evil practitioner of Low Magic and Black Magic, pledged to demons or devils like a necromancer. Witchdoctors bind spirits into objects rather than themselves and can make the dreaded juju.
- WizardA dual-classed caster of traditional ritual magic, with High Magic as the primary field and Enchantment or Black Magic second. Through evocation, wizards can enlist spirits, demons or devils.
