Druas
Race
The most mysterious of the races: black-skinned, white-haired, gray-eyed people with the grace of elves or faery folk and no homeland of their own. Scholars disagree whether they come from forest folk, elves crossed with fiends, or Mu's legendary first humans. A dwarven folk tale says their home, Talislantis, sank in the first cataclysm and that they will wander 'until Talislanta again rises'. They seem dreamy and preoccupied, and all have innate psychic gifts.
From the book
The Druas are the most enigmatic of the humanoid peoples, and nobody is sure where they came from. Some scholars trace them to the Korupira, a forest-dwelling race also known as Banes; others think them a cross between elves and devils or demons; still others suggest they are the last survivors of the fabled first human race of the dark continent of Mu. Alone among the humanoid races they have no homeland or territory at all.
Scattered individuals and small bands share no common culture or religion. A dwarven folk tale holds that their ancestral land, Talislantis, sank beneath the sea after the first cataclysm, and that the Druas are fated to roam the earth until it rises again.
In build they resemble elves or nymphs and move with the easy grace of the sidhe. Every Druas has coal-black skin, white hair and no beard, with steel-gray eyes whose irises are flecked with silver. Their gaze unsettles people, and superstitious folk claim they have the evil eye; some humans regard them with outright dread.
Druas temperament is unlike any other race's. Most seem dreamy and lost in their own thoughts, even in the middle of a conversation. The majority lean toward neutral alignments, though chaotic and lawful evil cults of Druas are known to exist. They live very long lives and have a natural bent for the mystic arts.
In play every Druas has innate psychic gifts: +2 saves vs PER, +1 saves vs WILL, infravision, and Sending, a once-a-day telepathic message of up to seven words to a single person at any range (though never across dimensions). They carry 8 lb per point of STR and can follow martial, mystical and magical professions, from Monk and Mystic to Mage and Wizard.
