Sorcerer
Profession, dual-classed
A dual-classed caster who treats magic as science, majoring in Sorcery with Enchantment or Black Magic as a second field. Sorcerers explain every magical effect by natural law and often sell their skills to the highest bidder.
From the book
Sorcerers study magic from a scientific, analytical standpoint. Their main field is Sorcery, with a secondary field of Enchantment or Black Magic at the player's choice.
Ritual and divine magic may interest them, but they care far more about the theory and natural laws that make spells work: to them an illusion is bent light, levitation a local easing of gravity, summoning an application of travel between dimensions, and even curses and conjurations are cases of the laws of association and contagion.
So they seldom mix with witches, druids or above all shamans, whom they see as primitive and unscientific, think better of alchemists, astrologers and magicians, and are intrigued, if puzzled, by the methods of wizards, priests and mystics. Doubting simple ideas of good and evil, many adopt whatever ethics suit them or none at all, and such sorcerers are among the most dangerous characters, hiring out for wealth, influence and power.
