Also called Background

From the book

A character with this background grew up in a primitive or barbaric society, for example among nomads or a hill tribe. Which kind of land the character knows best, be it desert, steppe, tundra, jungle, forest, island or something else, is up to the Game Judge, to suit the campaign.

The character's contacts are traders, trappers, scouts, tribal druids or shamans, and people from other tribes. Two skills are chosen from Riding, Swimming, Barter, Sign Language, Woodcraft and Hunting/Fishing/Trapping. Suitable homelands in the Atlantean world include Hyperborea, northern Khitai, the Dravidian Hills, the interior of Gondwana, Turan and Eria. Certain combinations are illogical, the barbarian alchemist being the example given, and the Game Judge may disallow them.
