Careful copying of maps and ordinary documents, even in scripts the copyist cannot read; spell casters can also duplicate magical scrolls.

Chirography is the art of the copyist. A chirographer can reproduce maps and ordinary writings faithfully even when unable to read the language of the original. A page usually takes about an hour, or half that if the copyist is fluent in the language.
In the hands of a spell caster, or anyone whose Read Magic ability has reached 100%, the skill extends to magic: such a character can copy any magical scroll or writing with only a 1% chance of failure. Astrologers and mages learn it at first level.
