Leather set with metal studs, priced at 10 G.P. It is Type III armor, absorbing 3 points of damage per attack, and has no Dexterity save penalty.
Studded leather is the heaviest armor a gladiator can wear while wrestling or boxing without taking the non-proficiency penalty on every attack and maneuver. As with all armor, spell casters other than paladins cannot use it, and it counts as basic equipment for encumbrance.
