Prisms
Alchemy, Alchemical device
A polished polyhedral crystal through which an alchemist can study light to expose illusions.
From the book
A tool for exposing illusions. The glass is made from 1 G.P. worth of silica, potash, lime and lead plus a dram of Rare Earths, cast as a many-sided crystal and polished with care.
An alchemist studies the light bent through the prism for one full minute and then saves vs Intelligence to see whether an illusion is revealed. Only alchemists can use prisms this way.
Every alchemical device needs a work area or laboratory plus two tool sets costing 25 G.P. each, one for metal and one for glass. A device takes a week to build (the Rod of Detection takes two), and the chance of success is 75% +2% per level of ability.
