Magical Inks
Alchemy, Magical mixture
Enchanted ink used to inscribe spells, enough for seven.
From the book
Magical inks are mixed from 7 fl. drs. of giant squid's ink with powdered gall oak and powdered gold (1 dr. of each), which makes enough to inscribe up to 7 spells. They are the ink used for writing scrolls and for the Inscription spell. The ink must be kept in crystal vials, inkwells or other crystal containers, or it loses its magic. It is costlier than other mixtures, at 700-1000 G.P. per 7 dr. batch.
Magical mixtures are prepared with a mortar and pestle, a small cauldron or crucible and a dependable heat source such as a lamp or furnace. Each takes a day to make, with a 90% chance of success plus 1% per level of ability (99% at most), and every one of them gives off a faint magical aura.
