An alchemist shapes a clay golem beside copper furnaces and a homunculus in a jar, with whales drifting past a sunken city beyond.

Lock-picking

Alchemy, Herbal elixir

Greatly improves the drinker's lock-picking, even with no prior skill.

From the book

Brewed from 4 drs. of mistletoe, it adds +50% to the drinker's chance of picking any lock, and works even for someone with no lock-picking ability at all.

Like all herbal elixirs, it resembles a potion with a much briefer effect: d6+4 minutes unless stated otherwise. It is brewed on a fluid ounce of clear water from fresh or dried herbs, with a mortar and pestle and a fire, over 1-4 hours; an alchemist needs only half the time. The chance of success is 90% plus 1% per level, never above 99%, and when one can be bought it costs 200 G.P. or more.
