The caster inscribes a protective circle that blocks scrying and crystal divination for as long as the markings stay intact.

The caster spends 1 hour inscribing a circle 7 ft. in radius that protects those within from scrying and from crystal-based divination. Once complete, it lasts for as long as its markings stay whole and undamaged, or until the caster chooses to end its power. There is no save. Only astrologers and mages may learn this spell.

A scene
In a cellar under the Hesperian Quarter, five conspirators wait while Sabinus, an old astrologer, spends a long hour on his knees chalking a circle fourteen feet across, crowded with the signs of the twelve houses. When the last mark is done he sits back, sweating. Inside the ring no crystal or scrying eye can find them. They lean close and talk treason for most of the night, until the innkeeper's cat saunters in, walks across the chalk, and smudges Capricorn with one fat paw. Everyone stops talking.
