Instantly carries the caster, and one companion per level, to an outer (not lower) plane; cast in reverse it returns the caster home.

Carries the caster instantly to any outer plane of existence: the astral plane, for instance, or an elemental plane or one of the higher planes; the lower planes cannot be reached this way. The caster may take along one extra individual or creature for each level of ability. Cast in reverse, the spell brings the caster back to their home plane.

A scene
The hilltop at Stonehenge is empty except for four travelers holding hands inside the ring of great stones, trying not to look nervous. Morwen, a mage of long years and considerable power, finishes the last line of the invocation and draws a star in the frosty air. The world folds. The stones, the grass, the cold wind of Alba all vanish at once, and the four of them are standing in an endless silver haze, weightless, on the astral plane, with nothing underfoot at all.
