Lets the caster hear what is happening at a familiar location as if present; distance is irrelevant but metal sheeting blocks it.

The caster fixes his attention on a place and hears every sound there as though he were present. The place must be at least familiar to him. Distance is no obstacle, though metal sheeting will block the listening. The effect lasts 1 minute per level of ability.

A scene
The witch hunter Gerlach knows the charcoal-burner's hut in the Black Forest well; he slept there two winters ago. Tonight, from his camp a day's walk away, he fixes it in his mind and listens. At first there is only the fire crackling. Then voices, three of them, women, arguing in low tones about a sick cow, a blood debt and the full moon. One of them laughs, and he recognizes the laugh. Gerlach opens his eyes, pulls his boots back on and starts walking through the dark.
