Lead embodies stasis and resistance to magic. Two drams with a demon's heart yield a Potion of Magic Resistance (20-50%), and with snail's shell a Potion of Slowness that halves the drinker's speed; with water hemlock it becomes a Dust of Slowness. Mixed with powdered onyx it makes Dust of Non-Detection, which hides objects and traps from every magical search.
Its essence, True (Fixed) Lead, stirred into paint, makes a boat or suit of armor 95% resistant to spells, though the wearer's own magic fails just as often. Lead is Saturn's metal on planetary medallions, lettered in black ink.
