Short bow

The short bow weighs 2 lb., deals 1-6 damage and needs a Strength of 8. A standard bow costs 10 G.P. and a custom one 20 G.P.; twenty arrows cost 5 S.P. It shoots without penalty to 150 ft., with long range out to 500 ft.

Archery I makes a character expert with either the short bow or the long bow, removing long-range penalties. Archery II, horse archery, works only with the short bow and lets the archer shoot from horseback without range penalties. The winged Zephyr are famed for the short bow, while the giant Aesir are too brutish to use bows at all.
