A rock is the simplest thrown weapon. Its weight varies, and so does its damage: it deals 1-4 points for every 5 lb. it weighs. No Strength minimum or price is listed.
Like any hand-thrown weapon, a rock is effective out to 5 ft. per point of the thrower's Strength and can reach 10 ft. per point at long range, where the non-proficiency penalty applies.
