Anyone can manage an easy climb, with a save vs Dexterity for a hard maneuver. The Mountain Climbing skill (500 X.P.) gives a 90% chance, plus 1% per level, of safely handling any mountaineering obstacle, while characters without it have only 3% per point of Dexterity.
