Gear carried in pouches, packs and sheaths counts as basic equipment, up to 2 lb. per point of Strength, and adds nothing to encumbrance. In one round a character can pull a small item such as a potion or talisman from a pouch and use it. Pickpockets can also try to cut a purse or pouch loose, succeeding 35% of the time plus 5% per level.
