Scrolls are inscribed with magical inks on papyrus, vellum, hide or a similar surface, with enough incense for one ritual per scroll. Each takes an hour, counts as one of the caster's spells for that day, and can hold only one spell. Reams of parchment come as part of a fully equipped laboratory.
