Hand axe

The hand axe is a 5 lb. chopping weapon priced at 2 G.P. among the hand weapons. It deals 1-8 damage and needs a Strength of 8.

Two one-handed weapons such as a pair of hand axes count as basic equipment, so they add nothing to a character's encumbrance. One dose of venom is enough to coat two hand axes; the coating lasts until the first successful hit on a given target. An alchemist forging a magical axe with orichalc needs 2 ingots for each +1.
