An alchemist shapes a clay golem beside copper furnaces and a homunculus in a jar, with whales drifting past a sunken city beyond.

Yew

Alchemy, Rune

Engraved on a staff or wand, it converts the item into a runestaff or runewand that can hold up to three further runes.

From the book

The yew rune is the key to the rune staff and rune wand. Carved into a staff or wand, it transforms the item into a runestaff or runewand, which can then take up to three more runes; making such a device takes a full day. These are the only devices that may carry more than one rune, and only druids and shamans can use them. No one may ever own more than one of these items.

The rune itself is engraved like the others, in one full hour with a sharp tool, and always succeeds.
