An alchemist shapes a clay golem beside copper furnaces and a homunculus in a jar, with whales drifting past a sunken city beyond.

Yage

Alchemy, Narcotic powder

May plunge the user into terrifying hallucinations with a risk of madness, or instead grant a glimpse of the future; frequent users can build up immunity, which is why some shamans favor it.

From the book

Anyone who takes yage must save vs Will. On a failure he suffers terrifying hallucinations for 5-20 minutes, with a 1% chance per minute of going permanently insane. On a success he is instead granted a vision of some future event.

Each repeated use carries a cumulative 5% chance that the user becomes immune to the drug's toxic side effects, which is why certain shamans and witch doctors take it so readily. Yage grows in the jungle and costs 75 G.P. per dram.
