Protection from Evil

Alchemy, Potion

Guards the drinker against physical attacks from evil summoned or invoked creatures.

From the book

This potion, made with 1 dr. of powdered bone or hair taken from a saint, guards whoever drinks it against physical attack by any evil being that has been summoned or invoked.

Potions confer temporary magical or spell-like abilities, usually lasting 40 + 1-20 minutes. Each one starts from a pint of clear water, a dram apiece of powdered gold, silver and copper, and a carat apiece of any seven powdered gemstones, though an alchemist can swap in 2 drs. of Rare Earths for the gems. Brewing takes a week in a small cauldron or alembic set over a furnace. Success comes 90% of the time plus 1% per level, to a maximum of 99%, and there is a 1% risk of mishap during fermentation between the 2nd and 7th days. The minimum sale price is 400 G.P.
