An alchemist shapes a clay golem beside copper furnaces and a homunculus in a jar, with whales drifting past a sunken city beyond.

Dust of Instant Ice

Alchemy, Alchemical dust

Freezes a large volume of water.

From the book

Scattered over water, this dust freezes 1,000 cubic feet of fresh or salt water solid, and the ice holds for 1 hour. Its recipe calls for 4 drs. of Rare Earths along with powdered malachite and moonstone, 2 cts. of each, added to the standard dust base. Like all alchemical dusts it takes two weeks to prepare, half that with a wizard, sorcerer or magician helping.

Like other dusts it can be thrown in a vial, scattered by hand or blown through a tube, and one dose covers a 10x10x10 ft. area. The alchemist succeeds 75% of the time plus 2% per level, with a further 10% when a wizard, sorcerer or magician helps, but every attempt carries a 5% chance of a serious accident on the Alchemical Mishap Table. When it can be bought at all, a dose costs 500-1000 G.P.
