Targrim

Like Tara, Targrim is a hazardous posting. It sits on the Mediterranean coast of Draconea, home to many fearsome beasts, and although such incidents are rare, rogue dragons have struck it on several occasions. The worst in recent memory came when a mated pair of great dragons fell on the fortress in revenge after one of their young was slain; both were eventually killed, but only after terrible losses.

Its main resource is tin, dug by the largest slave force in any colony and shipped home every month. Mining here is deadly, with frequent cave-ins and run-ins with wyrms (larval dragons) and other underground monsters. Slaves die so fast that the regent buys them from anyone without questions, and crooked ship owners sometimes sell their own passengers into slavery here for extra profit. Tharshesh is also interested in extending its hold from Targrim along the Draconean and Araganan coasts to connect with the homeland, forming a chain of havens to ease western Mediterranean trade.

Targrim has a strong mercenary army of about 500 and five ships, with four guard towers spaced a mile apart along the edge of the Draconean wilds. Mercenaries are always wanted at five times standard pay, and adventurers willing to explore Draconea for new sites to settle or exploit are wanted even more.
