The outer ring island is best known for its horse track, a full stadia (607 feet) wide, which runs all the way around the island. Businesses, parks, public baths and military posts line both sides, and races held every day draw big crowds of locals and visitors.
The canal crossing the ring's southern axis opens into a fully equipped underground shipyard. It is privately owned, but the City Guard patrols it because numerous tunnels, some long forgotten, run beneath the whole ring, and odd things sometimes happen in those passages.
