Creates a sphere of bright light (1 inch to 20 ft. across) that can be fixed to a wand, staff or sword as a light source, drives off light-sensitive creatures, and disperses magical darkness.

Conjures a ball of dazzling light, anywhere from 1 inch to 20 ft. across. Set on a wand, staff or sword, it serves as a lamp that lights a 40 ft. radius however small the sphere itself is. It can also be used to drive back creatures whose eyes cannot bear bright light, and it dispels magical darkness. The glow lasts 1 hour per level of ability.

A scene
The goblin tunnels beneath the Rhiphaen Mountains stink of smoke and old bones. Sethra, a Druas mage hired by the dwarves of Ironhold, whispers to the sun she cannot see and sets a spark no bigger than a pea on the tip of her staff. It blazes outward, lighting the passage forty feet in every direction. From around the next bend comes a chorus of yelps. The goblins who hate the sun hate this nearly as much, and they scramble back into the dark, shielding their eyes.
