For 10 minutes the caster responds with remarkable speed to anything sudden or unexpected. In practice this means surprise can never cost them initiative, a move or anything similar. The spell gives no warning that trouble is coming; it only sharpens the caster's own reactions and reflexes.

A scene
Deep in the Black Forest the path narrows between mossy oaks, and Anwen the mage traces the ram's horns on her palm before going on. The spell tells her nothing about what waits ahead. It only wakes her. So when the goblins drop from the branches with a shriek, she is already moving, stepping back from the first blade and dragging her apprentice down behind a root while the others are still gaping. The ambush meant to catch them flat-footed finds her turned and ready, and the goblins falter.
