The caster can see whether magic is present, spotting enchantment by eye within 10 ft. The sight lasts just 1 minute. There is no save, and nothing about the spell changes as the caster gains levels; it is the same at first level as at seventh.

A scene
Pello the charlatan has been promised seven genuine charms of protection for the price of five, and the stallholder at the Sea Nymph Bazaar is sweating in a way Pello recognizes from his own mirror. He mutters a few words, squints, and for one short minute the table in front of him is laid bare to his eye. One amulet, a chipped blue scarab, glows with a faint, true enchantment. The other six are painted clay. Pello buys the scarab alone, pays for it in full, and winks on his way out.
