Turns a mirror, water or reflective surface into a scrying device giving a brief glimpse of a chosen subject's direction, distance and surroundings.

Any mirror, pool of water or reflective surface becomes a scrying device. Gazing into it, the caster can view any person, object or place they wish and learn three things: which direction the subject lies in, roughly how far away it is, and what its general surroundings are, such as a forest or a castle. The view is only a quick glimpse, lasting 1 minute, and spells or devices that block scrying also defeat this spell.

A scene
Her son had been snatched from the docks of Cardigiawn three days ago, and the wizard Olwen had not slept since. She knelt before the rain barrel in her yard and stared into the water, speaking his name. The surface stilled. For one minute she saw him: asleep in a ship's hold, among barrels, rocking. Southeast, she knew, a long way, perhaps two hundred miles. Open sea all around. Then the water trembled and the picture was gone. She stood up, soaked to the elbows, and went down to the harbor to hire a ship.
