Malachite grants influence over water and the sea. One carat helps make Potions of Immunity to Drowning (with coral) and Water Breathing (with makara's or triton's scales). Its grandest uses are in dusts: with moonstone and rare earths it becomes Instant Ice, freezing 1,000 cu. ft. of water for an hour, and with mercury and rare earths it becomes Water Evaporation, permanently drying up that much water or 10,000 sq. ft. of marsh. It costs 15 G.P. per carat.
