Beryl carries the virtue of charisma. A single carat of powdered beryl added to 2 drs. of lodestone makes a Potion of Charisma, raising the drinker's Charisma by 1-4 points while the potion lasts. At 1 G.P. per carat it is among the cheapest gems, and like any stone it can be one of the seven powdered gems in a potion base.
