Riding horse (light)

An ordinary saddle horse, priced at 25 G.P., a quarter of the cost of a light warhorse. As a light horse it travels 40 miles a day on roads and 35 on flatland, falling to 15 in rugged and 5 in very rugged country, and carries up to 500 lb.

Traveling unencumbered adds 50% to these rates; a heavy load cuts them by half. A rider without the Riding skill must save vs Dexterity or fall off when riding faster than a trot.
