An alchemist shapes a clay golem beside copper furnaces and a homunculus in a jar, with whales drifting past a sunken city beyond.

New Life Forms table

Alchemy, Homonculus

Percentile results for creating a wholly new kind of creature, where the best outcomes can also produce a murderous, uncontrollable being.

From the book

The percentile table for a homonculous of an entirely new design. On 0-20% the attempt fails and the vat is left coated in lifeless slime. On 21-50% it is a mutant, rolled on the Mutated Species Table, and on 51-60% it forms as planned but at half size. On 61-90% it comes out exactly as intended, with hit points based on the level of its most favorable creature component.

On 91-94% it gains an extra 1-4 hit points per level. On 95-97% it is also twice as strong, or fast, or intelligent, or powerful, or savage as expected (one trait only). On 98-100% it is twice as strong and twice as fast, but completely beyond control: it will try to kill its creator and wreck everything around it.
