North Polar Regions

Almost nothing is known of this bleak region, thought to be little more than an endless sprawl of ice and snow. Whether anything lives there is disputed. The Fomorians say no; the Nethermen of the Iron Mountains believe otherwise, saying the polar lands harbor frost demons, ice golems and the beasts they call snow lemures, meaning yeti, and so they are reluctant to go there and even avoid the northern slopes of their mountains.

The Aesir of Gava hold yet another view, based on an obscure legend of unknown source. It tells of a fissure at the heart of the polar regions leading deep into the earth, at whose end lies a whole other world that, from its description, might resemble the green jungles of Lemuria. This hollow-earth tale is popular among the Aesir but treated with considerable doubt by most other peoples.
