Nonamato is a rich and varied island. High mountains divide its lush, fertile west from a harsh eastern shore, and human tribes of fisher-gatherers living in extended families roam both the land and the waters offshore. Its only important settlement is Nan Matal, the capital of Manua, and it was one of the original homelands of the Manuans.
