Anostos

Anostos, the mysterious Land of No Return, lies beyond the Sea of Dread on its western side. Constant mist hides its jagged coast, which troubles even skilled navigators; many ships have sunk here among swirling currents and half-hidden rocks. In places sheer cliffs rise from the churning sea, barring all but the most stubborn attempts to land, and elsewhere ships must thread winding inlets and narrow stone gorges before they can land.

The north is under ice and snow, but the south is surprisingly mild, warmed chiefly by many hot springs and by prevailing southerly winds, which together give the land its misty look. Its landscape ranges from the wasted Fells to the twin forests of the Weeping Forest and Dreamwood, and to the north the Iron Mountains wall the warmer south off from the frozen polar lands. The Fomorians are the dominant race.
