A large island continent with the River Oceanus on its eastern side, open Atlantean Ocean to its south, and the River Poseidonus and Sargasso Sea on its western flanks, stretching from cold Mestea in the north to tropical Amphisea, Azae and Diaprepea in the south. Mountains, plains and woodland dominate; a mountain spine ending in Mount Atlas divides it, with the city of Atlantis at its foot.

Atlantis is a great island continent ringed by the River Oceanus on the east and northeast, the Atlantean Ocean on the south, the River Poseidonus on the west and the Sargasso Sea on the northwest. It runs from chilly Mestea, which lies farther north than the tip of Alba, down to Amphisea on the mainland and the isles of Azae and Diaprepea in the tropics south of Hesperia, so weather and climate change sharply from one end to the other.
Its landscape mixes many terrains, but mountains, plains and forest dominate. A chain of mountains splits the continent roughly in two, ending in the south with lofty Mount Atlas, at whose foot stands the city of Atlantis, the largest on the continent and the traditional seat of the empire. West and south of the city spreads the fertile Plain of Gwyddneu.
Three major forests grow here, each quite different: the jungles of Amphisea in the far south, the pinewoods of Elassippea in the southwest and the broadleaf woods of Eudea. All three teem with plant and animal life.
