Common Lesser Demon

Goat-like humanoid demons that are strong, cruel, habitually lying and undisciplined, fielded in huge armies against devilkind. Summoned for a small animal or 200 gold pieces, they will obey a single simple command.

The ordinary lesser demon looks like an ugly cross between a man and a goat, though each one differs. All are spiteful and treacherous; unless made to swear a solemn oath, they always lie to and try to deceive whoever summons them. In a fight they favor weapons that slash or maul, like sickles, spiked clubs and battle axes. They are strong but clumsy, and love butchering the weak, wounded or helpless.

They are very numerous on their home plane, where huge armies of them are thrown against the servants of the lesser devils of Hades in savage battles that can go on for months. Ferocious as they can be, they are neither brave nor disciplined, and their units are thought very unreliable.

To summon one requires a small animal or at least two hundred gold pieces as an offering. Once the pact is sealed the demon will carry out any one command, though complicated instructions may be too much for its slow, brutish mind.
