Book of Lists overview

The Book of Lists is a general reference for players and spell casters that catalogs the kinds of creatures that can be summoned: demons, devils, spirit entities and undead. For each it gives the service the creature can be asked to perform along with its average level of ability and Will score, and it points to Bard Games' third Atlantean book, The Bestiary, for fuller write-ups.

These tables work with the summoning rituals. A plain summoning spell only brings a creature through, so the caster shelters in a Circle of Protection with the creature held in a Thaumaturgic Triangle and has three tries to seal a pact, each forcing a save vs Will; evocation, a High Magic art, also compels service, and invocation, used only by practitioners of Divine Magic, calls beings of like faith who help willingly. Once a pact is sealed the creature performs the service listed for its race and rank, and demanding more breaks the pact.
