The demon lords beneath Mephistopheles, each able to grant a wish instead of service.

From the book

Any arch demon will grant a full wish in place of its service. Arch demons answer Summon Arch Demon/Devil (necromancers and witchdoctors only) and Superior Evocation (wizards and cabalists only), and even a known true name cannot force one into a pact. The rank as a whole is rated level 20 with Will 14, though each named arch demon is level 24: Aaman, Astorath, Baal, Moloche, Nergal, Shax and Thamuz.

Like all demons it hails from the Nether Realms: chaotic, evil, fond of tormenting and slaughtering the weak, and held in check only by the Hierarchy of Demons under Mephistopheles. Its summoner must be harsh, since any hesitation invites it to twist his orders; it shies at first from holy symbols, and lesser and greater demons must attack devils on sight. A flaw in the protective circle or triangle frees it to enslave or kill its summoner, and ordering more than its kind owes breaks the pact at once.
