For 1 hour the caster, or one person the caster touches, can both speak and understand any single language chosen at casting. Only one language is granted by each casting. The spell is Non-variable, so the duration does not grow with level, and there is no save.

The Atlantean envoy had rehearsed his speech for weeks, but at the doors of the Palace of Harmony his nerve failed. His magician, a quiet woman named Callista, laid two fingers on his wrist and murmured. He drew a breath and, to his own astonishment, addressed the Khitan ministers in fluent, courtly Khitan, catching every nuance of their replies. The talks ran long. As the water clock neared the end of the hour, Callista leaned forward and touched his sleeve. He glanced at her, and quickly began to wrap up his remarks.
