Creates a ring of hellfire that burns anyone crossing it; demons and devils are immune.

Creates a ring of magical fire 10 ft. in radius, anywhere up to 100 ft. away, lasting 10 minutes. Anyone who tries to cross the flames takes 1-6 damage per level of the caster, or half with a save vs Dexterity. Because the fire comes from the infernal planes, demons and devils pass through it unharmed.

A scene
The three knights of Avalon have the warlock trapped at last in the ruined chapel, until Emrys flings his arm out and a ring of red hellfire erupts around them, twenty feet across, roaring waist high. The youngest knight tries to leap through and comes out the other side with his surcoat blazing and his skin blistered. The other two stay put, swords raised, sweating. Emrys's imp familiar strolls through the flames with its arms folded, unscathed, and grins up at them.
