Smith

Hireling

Ironworkers who make shields, armor, swords and tools. The finest, such as dwarven smiths, count as artisans.

From the book

A smith is an ironworker who can be engaged to make armor, shields, swords, and metal tools or implements of every sort. Standard items sell at the normal list prices, while made-to-order work costs twice as much. The best smiths, including dwarves, count as artisans; they produce swords of superior quality and elaborately crafted shields, helms and armor, and can ask as much as ten times list price.

If an employer provides a fully equipped forge and workshop, which costs at least 500 GP to establish, a smith can be retained long-term at a wage of at least 200 GP per month.
