Alchemist

Alchemists turn out a wide range of magical mixtures and substances. Most are bookish folk who work purely to push their craft forward, but a number keep or rent a small shop and sell remedies and potions to fund research that never comes cheap; standard prices for such wares are given with the rules for magical and alchemical operations.

An employer who can offer a properly equipped laboratory may be able to keep an alchemist on a long-term retainer. Expect to pay around 100 GP a month for each level the alchemist has reached, and to cover every material the work consumes. As with all hirelings, the real rate can shift with the individual's talent and reputation.
