Poseidonea

Poseidonea has always been the most prestigious Atlantean kingdom and is still both a great nation and the heart of the empire. Its city of Atlantis, capital of kingdom and empire alike, is called the greatest wonder of the world. The kingdom fills the south of the continent: Amphisea lies due south, Amazon Celaenea holds part of the east coast with the River Oceanus forming the rest of that border, Gadirea and Mnesea lie north, and the ocean and peninsular Eudea to the west.

Its people carry the most pure Atlantean blood, so they are taller, darker and more regal than many neighbors. Men and women both favor short tunics of exotic cloth, the rich wearing Khitan silk and similar rare fabrics and the poor making do with local linen; furs and skins from native beasts such as lion, tiger, zebra, leopard, jaguar, ocelot and griffon are widely worn. In the hot tropical south people wear very little except at ceremonies.

Its splendor extends well beyond the capital. Four great cities ring Lake Llyn Llyon, Findias, Gorias, Murias and Falias, each a center of magical science and poetry and a showpiece of Atlantean building, and the Plain of Gwyddneu is still the farming and herding heartland. The king claims descent in the male line from Atlas, eldest of Poseidon's sons. Poseidonea has the most human inhabitants of any kingdom and the largest foreign population.
